Below are five photographs which I made while on a walk around Sofia – in the neighborhoods “Mladost 1” and “Mussagenitsa”. I do not usually find any of these places inspiring but as I live in the region it is easy to go out and look for something interesting. Actually I managed to put some frames in use that day, at least in my opinion and these four are some of them.
The statue I routed out accidently between the blocks of flats in “Mussagenitsa”. I think it is an interesting subject with its natural size and looks.
Below is a photo of an improvised door and fence of a backyard. It is located in the coulee which divides the both neighborhoods in the part near “Tsarigradsko shose” Close to it there is a stream and if there weren’t the city noises one could easily imagine a country idyll. What I liked about it were the interesting colours which give the fence an interesting accent.
And of course – right after I leave the coulee, “Mladost 1” welcomes me with its typical landscape.
The moral of this day was that no location should be underestimated and that in the right time of the day any subject can be brought to live. And this will become clear in my next article.
And one more thing – always to bring a spare roll of film with me!
