You must have had a desire to walk the cobble paths of an old village hidden between the dense and moist forests and with preserved architecture and style from the Bulgarian Revival period. I had the chance during the past year to visit the Bulgarian village of Bozhentsi * and being fully honest – it was one of the most amazing places I’ve been to. In order to share that experience I will show you some of the best photos I made while I was there.
I didn’t expect that in our country there would be places so much untouched, where one could sight see the archaic architecture without having to put up with modern buildings and unfinished hotels. But there it is! The houses are exceptionally from the Bulgarian Revival period and are not just museums but functioning homes where you could stay for the night or as long as you’d love to.
As soon as we entered the place we felt the atmosphere which has been an inspiration for Bulgarian writers, poets and painters. By that time the streets were almost empty despite the beautiful sunny weather.

The Sun was shining and unlocking the full spectrum of colors around us.
We chose to stay in one of the many houses where they give rooms. In most of them the interior is also preserved. And if your planning on staying there, you should take food with you for there is maybe one restaurant with delicious traditional cuisine but you would be too dependent.

I am sure that whoever visits this place longs to return. No matter if you go there with your family or friends it will in the end you’ll be left with nothing but good memories. For more information you can visit the following links:
